The Law of karma produces two types of results.

The awareness of the transmigration of the soul is understood to be but a part of the law of karma. You see, karma not only means actions of the physical and mind, but reaction of the mind to the external stimuli around us also. Let us not forget this, whatever forces are generated by these actions, be they good or bad, are the consequences that ultimately effect the doer. This is the law of causation. This is known as the mortal law, which individually and collectively guide the destinies of the individual and all societies. Every action produces two types of results. Cosmic, this determines our future experiences, such as happiness or miseries. And the other is the individual karmic effect. Each of these actions that I speak to you of leaves behind an impression of the mind. Otherwise known as a samskara. There are literally thousands of these samskaras stored in the mind, which get activated later on, again, as our tendencies. Do you understand?

These are subtle impressions that will take us into the next birth, or into future births. Through self analyses we find that a great many of these impressions originated in our childhood. Particular experiences that we have in childhood leave deep impressions\ scares in the mind. As we are growing we find that there is a vast amount of pictures and ideas in our minds. Now, this reenactment of memories is like the tape on rewind, and we easily forget the source of these memories. It is through introspection and awareness that we can trace back to birth, infancy, early childhood, and even to our previous births. If we analysis our dreams then we find a vast amount of details about our past. Often these detail are pointing directly to previous lives, that’s right.

In the law of karma, we are aware of this law having two aspects. That is the binding aspect, and the freeing aspect. If karma is done with egoism and attachment it binds the soul. When we relive our sense enjoyments, we bind the previous impressions stronger, and this pulls us down, down into the plane of birth and death, you see. However, if karmas are done without attachment, as in say, a service to the Divine or for the benefit of other, this leads us to liberation of the soul. Simple eh, so now we know which way go and what to do.

This detachment, that I speak to you of, is done either through constant awareness and self analyses, or self surrender to the Divine, Bhakti Yoga. When we do karma in this way we do not create new impressions in the mind, and the old impressions do not gain strength. Eventually, all of the old impressions of the mind have then no hold on us. This is known as purification of mind. This is done through karma. This karma is not bad. It’s more how we go about this process that determines whether the karma binds us or not. It’s not necessarily what you do, it’s how you’ve done or how you do it. Now, all the eastern philosophies accept this law of karma, whether they are theistic or not.

The very bases of human nature is Love. Love has no limitations.

The process of death and rebirth is a striving for balance. Often without our conscious awareness of course. I say to you, “why not accept this reality, and not waste one moment of any given lifetime.” Have you ever asked yourself, why am I willingly living within the confines of limitations of others opinions. Without realizing the truths of their origins. And without realizing the ultimate truth, which proceeds all limitations of the mind.

The very bases of human nature is love, and ultimate love has no limitations. If we truly live by the often spoken words, “Her will is my will.” Then we would find ourselves free of limitations. We would understand their origins. We would not pass judgment on another. There would not be a prejudice toward another’s aspect of life, and we would not feel the need to protect our belief systems. Perhaps then we could say, that limitations are the confines of others that we readily accept as our own. These are what I refer to as the belief systems that are instilled from birth. Somewhat like a set of so-called norms for us to live our life by. Now, we do need some structures. We do need discipline. However, these limitations, that I’m speaking to you of, are supposed to provide us with the structural foundation and guidelines to live by. And importantly you must recognize that these limitations are often not questioned. We are not to question them or test them. For even the answers as to their existence are limited to the usual, “this is how we believe, and this is how we have led our lives for generations.” We are expected to remain loyal to these limitations. They’re often imposed as though it is the only way to be, and any other way is wrong, unacceptable. We have personal example of these imposed limits. We have limits, fears that we have followed for many lifetimes. Patriarchal god has no limits. Yet, within these confines of limitations, limited belief systems patriarchal god has many forms. Love has no limitations. Yet, it is limited to who we love, how much we love them, and it is confined to when and where, and exactly whom that love can be given to, where it begins, and where it must in. I’m sure you understand this. How then do we change and go beyond our own accepted limitations? We do so by choosing to become aware. We do so by choosing consciousness over ignorance. To be conscious is beyond just data knowledge held. How do we do this? By expanding our minds beyond our limited selves.

There are some limits that are actually for our well-being. Perhaps they’re worth mentioning. For instance, religious concepts are often used as a means to impose war on one another. Either a war of debate between people, or an all out physical conflict surely to end in no conclusion with acceptance. There are no real winners. All insist that they are right according to their own limitations. The oppressors are always left still within their own limitations with the driving need to coerce the remaining living into their belief system or else. Or else what? Death.

Only hatred, which is severe limitation, would cause others to torture or kill all of those who do not accept their belief systems, or their limitations, basically. This battle of ignorance is alive and thriving today, as it has been for thousand of years, unfortunately. Now, if people feel this strongly about their own belief systems, sets of rules, limitation with which they live their life by, then it would be wise for all those individual involved who live within these limitations of generation and personal beliefs, to stay within the confines of the concepts that they choose, and remain within their boundaries personally, societal, religiously, culturally, politically. If it is that they feel so strongly this sense of right and wrong when it come to their religious affiliations, and others views, instead of creating a war at any level, due to their own inability to accept the view of another, they should stay within themselves. Why is it that we as human beings feel the need to force others to accept our limited view, our opinions, our sense of right and wrong, when there is such a diversity of limitations within the human realm. Do you understand?

There are many examples of this large-scale problem. The problems of race, color, creed, sexual preferences, chosen lifestyles. In America people pride themselves in that part of the national anthem that says, “land of the free.” But I suggest to you that perhaps it is limited, a limited freedom. As long as one lives within the limitations of continuously passing judgment, and limiting the freedom of others through prejudice means and conversional forces. Perhaps you may not agree.

Do you know the difference between regret and remorse?

Through a better understanding of regret then one is able, if willing, to relate to karma, which is simply cause and effect. The path of unfulfilled desire is the reason for the cycle of death and rebirth.

If we have no expectation we have no regret. Without regrets we have no guilt. Without the guilt we are better able to accept the responsibility for our own life process. I believe this can only be done through Love, because through Love we are always willing to accept the Truth, we have nothing to fear. To regret is to be disappointed, which is often followed by or with lamenting. I would say that it somewhat lends to a type of sorrow, and is all too often not rectified by the one who has the regret.

Whereas, remorse is something that few people want to contend with. For remorse is what we might say a sort of self-reproach, or the taking of the blame, and the suffering of the consequence, knowing a wrong has been done, and that we are the cause.

Regret is another way of being, that has a great deal of fear in it, or it is fear based, the fear of suffering. People will immediately, out of regret, begin to do things to subdue or play down their regretful act. How do they do it? Sometimes they may fall into lying, or manipulation, otherwise covering up in an effort to move away from what it is they regret. The problem that most people don’t see with this, is that, they do not realize that the regret will stay with them always until rectified. That is, making the wrong right, in an essence, making amends. The wrong doing, that is the regretted act, cannot be changed to a right, but it must be neutralized or balanced with Truth. For as we know, Truth is the answer to every question in life. An example that comes to mind when I’m speaking to you about regret is one of when, let’s say, the military drops a bomb on the wrong place, and kills a lot of innocent people, there is regret. The regret is that they did not kill those for whom the bomb was intended. Now, because of this mishap, a series of lies, and covering up, and manipulations must occur, and this is always done with a logic and a reason. The covering will be to either hide the misfortune with talk of military strategy, or the manipulation will be done with spurts of logic and reason, such as, we thought we were on the target, or there’s been talk of covering weapons in that area too, so it was probably a good move on our part. All of this is usually followed by having someone to put the blame on so that there is a face to target the regretted act upon. Do you follow? Perhaps it’s too hideous of an example, but I feel that it is one that we can all understand.

Now, some kind of punishment must follow this targeting. This targeting gives the illusion of an apparent remorse, and it gives the masses a feeling of justice, you see. The masses of people need to know that a wrong has been made right, because they, the masses, place themselves and their families in political situations often, and they feel remorse, and that remorse must be appeased by the oppressors who exhibit regret. The appeasement is so easily accepted through the condemnation of one or two persons that are blamed. Does that make sense? Does that accepted appeasing by the condemnation of one or two make it all right? For many, the answer is “yes”. But Truth is the answer, so where is the right? I do not know if this example is serving you well, but perhaps it gives you an understanding of what is being spoken of about regret.

Human existence is created by our previous thoughts and desires.

I don’t know that I can say that it was so much a decision, as much as forgetfulness of Ahambramasmi, “I Am The Self Existent One”. Now, be careful this is not an ego bound thing I’m saying, although it is used in that way by much of humanity. Saying, Ahambramasmi, “I Am The Self Existent One”, is a matter of Absolute Knowledge that the physical human existence is created by our previous thoughts and desires. But, in fact the Self Existent One, the true nature, the Soul, She is the center of our being and the cause of all else.

In the decline of memory we have suffered, and still suffer the illusion that we are apart from The Creator, and not a part of The Great Mother, this causes great pain. This descent has caused the wheel of samsara. This cycle you asked about of birth, life, death, and rebirth to turn; owing our power of spiritual ignorance to attachment, aversion, pleasure, pain, vice, and virtue. These are the struggles we have in the human existence. This is the problem of separateness.

We see life as finite existence, and we are constantly fluctuating in our insecurities, our beliefs that suffering is the way of life, and we hold to a determined permanence of ignorance, rather than determining through the use of free will to attain liberation from it all, from the binds that hold us separate from our original harmonious nature. Our original state is joy. Happiness, I often say is our birth right, but, happiness is a fleeting thing in the human existence. We look to outward means for the attainment of what we call happiness. When in fact to merge into The Divine energy within our very own Self, the very center of our being would give rise to a flood of joy unlike most people ever experience in any given lifetime. What are we willing to let go of in our facade of separateness in order to experience, or to take in one drink of the nectar of joy, which is at the very center of our self.

Through the spiritual path of yoga one attains peace by contemplation, meditation, and reflection. Therefore, one eventually comes to the Realization that there is a great deal of action being taken to alleviate ones pain and suffering caused by ignorance. This is the path or pursuit in itself. There’s nothing romantic about it I assure you. Heaven and hell are states of mind. As well as romance is a state of mind.

View life without expectations, prejudices, and judgementalness, this would give you a great peace.

Peace to all of humanity in this time of great suffering.

How can one more easily understand, accept, and conceive of the concept of eternity?

Well, to understand the concept of eternity is difficult in our human existence because, we are limited to the consciousness of only right here right now, and we live in all of our preconceived notions and concepts of what was, and what will be.

We’re always looking to the future, and actually believe that we’re living the present. This makes it difficult to grasp the past, the present, and the future as eternal. What I means is, we can not see the circle of eternity because we see all of life as separate and unrelated.

Evolution is related to time. Involution is the transcendence of time. However, it does require the knowledge of its limitations in order to go beyond it.

The soul, She is eternal. Just simply limited to the container of the physical body. So, the soul is encased in the physical. To conceive beyond our limited belief system is a progression in the direction of acceptance, acceptance of concepts that are unfamiliar to us. By acceptance we find that we’re willing to expand our minds, this inevitably leads to change. Understanding, and accepting that all of life is change allows us to see the cycles of birth, life, death, and rebirth as the eternal journey of unfoldment, which is limited only by non-remembrance. Not remembering that we are a part of life, and not apart from it, this is eternal existence.

Samsara: The Wheel of Life

Samsara being the wheel of life, death, and rebirth that we’re all on. No matter what the death experience is, be it rapid or slow, we all experience the same thing. If one experiences a violent death, then all this means is that the violent death brings about the entire process more rapidly than one who is lying perhaps with the diseased body, waiting for death.

I ask that you keep the mind open. Open to the attainment of knowledge that may hopefully serve yourself and another in the process of living and dying.

I have had wonderful opportunities to work with hospice professionals, and medical professionals who have gone beyond just the body, and it is very, very wonderful to see the compassion, the gentleness, the kindness that many of these people bring to the dying process of those who choose to die differently, or in familiar surroundings. We need more knowledge. I am certain that there are many more people in the world who with knowledge, or better understanding, will be able to serve others in their dying process. But, pridefully 100% of nurses and others of same ego size project their perceptions without true knowledge of the individual blue print and their individual needs. So, I still tell you that it is very important to take a very close, conscious, look at one’s life, and how it is that, that life is being lived. What are the thoughts? What are the actions? It’s not only about what you eat, and if you jog, or walk, or exercise, but there are deeper spiritual implications that need to be considered. There are many belief systems in place in the world, and they must all be respected. But they must be better understood for we encounter many different types of individuals often when we are in the dying process, and how very loving it would be that no matter what ones belief system is they would be willing to set it aside in order to serve another in their belief system in their moment of passing from one world to the next. But, there are many swelled ego do gooder playing God to quell personal guilt.

This is what I am hoping that you will take a close look at in your own self. That you would be willing to open your mind to be inclusive of thoughts, terms, knowledge that you perhaps have not been part of until now. We as human beings must make it a practice to include other philosophies, experiences, and Truths.

I welcome any questions that you might have. That you may be able to bring forth your concerns, your fears, your questions, if you like.

I offer you the deepest blessing. I encourage you to explore within your own self truthfully your own fears, your own belief system. Challenge those things that you so steadfastly hold to because of tradition, and fear, and lack of knowledge. Have faith in yourself, the faith that you will become a stronger, more peaceful and happy individual by coming to understand the purpose of life, and the inevitable change that we’ll all go through, which is death to rebirth.

It doesn’t matter what religion we are born into or have chosen to follow. It doesn’t matter whether we have a belief in god, Soul, or other beliefs, it doesn’t matter. The Truth is, we all live the life and we will all leave the body. The question is how have we lived the life? What occurs during the process of leaving the body? And where do we go, if anywhere, some will say, after we leave the body? There are many accounts that attest to the occurrences in the dying process and beyond. I wonder why it is that we still question in such disbelief. Why are we still so skeptical?

There are many children who can speak very knowingly of their own past lives, most previous past lives often. And when the dying person is speaking, often times they speak of places that they’ve been, and people who they’ve known, not in this life. Why do we question such Truths? It is because of our ignorance. I believe that it is because we choose not to see the Truth, and this ignorance is based in fear.

I am here to answer the call of those struggling in their existence. As a very young child limited in verbal expression yet, overflowing with compassion, I sought to relieve the struggles of any and all around me.

I write to dissolve some of those fears, confusion, by replacing it with Truth, with knowledge. May your exploration of yourself, your mind, your heart, your beliefs, your traditions bring you to greater understanding. May it bring you to the Light of Truth.

Bless all of life.

Namaste.

What are your beliefs about life after death?

As I became older it became quite obvious through my many encounters with those in the dying process by this point, more human beings than animals, that death and the afterlife were, for the duration of this life, going to be a large part of my life. By the age of fourteen I had personally experienced death and rebirth at the feet of the Divine. This is not something that I speak of, but I do know, and I feel very deeply that we do speak with more authority of things that we know through personal experience. For The Truth itself cannot be disputed.

I thank you for your patience as I attempt here to share with you how it is that I can speak to you on this subject. We all have questions, and they all deserve answers, or at least those questions deserve avenues of exploration and expansion of mind. Knowledge is very powerful, and it can be used in many ways. Knowledge about life, death, and rebirth we all need. It enables us to understand our purpose in living. Deepening our knowledge, not just through western medical science, but spiritually helps each of us in serving all of sentient life.

We all question, “When will I die?”, “How will I die?”, “Where will I die?”, “Will my wishes in this process be followed?” We question how will medical decisions be made? What about family, and loved ones. And a very deep and important question that we all have is, “What actually happens after the body dies?”

We do not have all the answers to this certain experience that we will all have. Knowledge and practice serve us well here, for I ask you to put yourself at this moment in the place of the dying person. We all want done for us what is good and loving, kind. We want to be comforted in our fear and confusion, and therefore, we must attempt to do the same for others.

One of the most important questions I ask people when they come to me for counseling, or just to speak with me is this, “What are your beliefs about life after death?” I believe that this question is what helps people in making their decisions about living their life. How to live, and how to die.

If people believe in a life after this one then people are often more conscientious about their part in the responsibility that we all have to life. I realize that this not an easy topic to discuss however, it is a reality that we must all come to accept, and we should not ignore or take lightly, for the way we live our life will determine our moments at death, and the process of our dying, meaning our thoughts and our previous actions. Listen, few people actually die without pain, and even fewer die with a peaceful happiness within. We must be more prepared. How to be prepared is what we all ask. I will attempt to go through a deeper understandings about the life, the process of dying, the death itself, and life after death, and the rebirth.

It is important, we say in eastern philosophy, to make sure that we are practicing the dharma, that being the universal laws of life. Not the manmade laws, but the actually spiritual laws of Divine Mother, laws of Truth such as ahimsa, nonviolence, the practicing of compassion. We must have, or come to have the greatest compassion for all beings. Very importantly we must gain control over our own minds. We say that this is done through sincere and intense devotion.

We must be able to go beyond the body, the physical plane of existence. For all that we possess, or see as our possession will remain when we die. However, our thoughts bound in emotions we will take with us. We are, we say, what we think, or I think for therefore I am. We must learn to be more conscious of our constant stream of thoughts flowing continuously. We must learn to direct the mind, open the heart. We must learn to embrace death with the vigor, with the vitality that we embrace life. Therefore, the most important thing to consider is to have a strong mind so that during the process of dying we are able to balance the five inner elements of existence, the breath, the body fluids, the flesh, the heat, the body itself, these inner elements all corresponding with the five basic elements of our external world, earth, water, fire, ether or wind, we say.

At the time of death only our conscious experiences and our past actions will be what is most prominent. You have heard the saying, “At the moment of death all my life passed before my eyes.”, this kind of thing. There is a Great Truth here.

Live life to the fullest with compassion for all sentient beings. Master thy self.

Shanti
